How to fix your G Suite email when not receiving emails

If you just setup your G Suite account and are not able to receive emails, you’re not alone.

I recently had this issue, but I was able to get it fixed. I’ve setup lots of accounts and this almost never happens, but if it does I’ve included instructions on how to fix this.

Here’s what happened:

When someone would send me an email, this message would happen on their side.

Mailer Delivery Subsystem <mailer-daemon@googlemail.com>

Message Not Delivered

Message not delivered

There was a problem delivering your message. See the technical details below.

The response was:

The partner did not specify the domain to relay the emails

Action: failed

Status: 5.0.0

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; The partner did not specify the domain to relay the emails

Here is the solution to start receiving emails:

Step 1: Login to your G Suite Email account. Then click on the nine box square in the top right. Then click the button that says “More”. See image below:

G Suite Fix - Step 1

Step 2: Next you’ll want to click on the “Admin” button. See image below:

G Suite Fix: Step 2

Step 3: Now you should be in the G Suite Admin Console. Go ahead and click on the “Users” button. See image below:

G Suite Fix: Step 3

Step 4: Now you should see the Users. Click on the User that is not receiving email. See image below:

G Suite Fix: Step 4

Step 5: Next, click on the account button. See image below:

G Suite Fix: Step 5

Step 6: This is the last step. Scroll to the bottom of the account section and click the “G Suite Email” box. Then click the save button on the bottom right. This will fix your account so you start receiving emails. See image below:

G Suite Fix: Step 6

That should fix your account. If you continue to have issues, contact the G Suite support team.

I have setup other G Suite accounts for my clients. Each account has a different name, payment info, etc.. that they asked me to setup for them. I set them up all from my same IP address. Hope that helps.
