Jordan’s Resource List:
Finding the right tools and resources for your Online business is hard work. I’ve personally spent hours upon hours setting up and testing many different softwares, products and services. The one thing I’ve learned is to not trust a sales page. You’ve got to actually try it out. These are the current tools that I use for myself and my clients. I have personally tested and used every resource on this page.
G Suite: Do your potential clients trust you? Are your clients and potential clients wondering why your emails aren’t coming from your domain name? Having an email address with your domain name is one way to build trust. I put together a tutorial you can watch on how to setup your business email address using G Suite in less than 10 minutes at only $5 per month.
WP Engine: I use WP Engine hosting for all of my WordPress Websites and all of my clients WordPress Websites. WP Engine comes standard with a firewall to protect against hackers and malware attacks. WP Engine is fast! It’s optimized for WordPress Websites and has faster speeds using their built in Evercache technology. WP Engine does automatic daily backups. This brings peace of mind in case you mess up your Website. With the click of a button you can restore it. WP Engine’s support is awesome because you know you’re talking to a WordPress specialist.
99 Designs: I use 99 Designs to get multiple graphic designers competing to win my logo design contest. This allows me to get a lot of different ideas and perspectives on my logo design.
Do you have the ability to scale your business? In today’s digital world, you want to be able to build your email list, create membership Websites, create advanced lead funnels with automation, and track your progress with your clients. Ontraport is the solution that I recommend and use to help my clients scale their businesses.
One of my favorite ways to generate leads is holding a Webinar. Webinars allow you to teach something valuable to your attendees and then offer them a product or service that will help them do what you just taught them in less time or for less money. I love and use Everwebinar because it is a hybrid model. It allows you to play a pre-recorded webinar (automated), but allows you to moderate the Webinar live. This allows you to present your best Webinar presentation while having the time to answer your attendees questions. You can see it in action by registering for a Webinar at a Website I built called TryDayTrading.com.
I use Webinar Jam to host live Webinars. Webinar Jam recently rebuilt their whole platform from the ground up. You can now host your live Webinars on their servers. You can have multiple presenters (up to 6). You can show your desktop/screen or play a video clip. It also has the landing page, registration page, reminder emails/text messages, and all the tools needed to run your Webinar. The Live Chat is a great feature and the moderation tools make it easy to respond to just that person or the whole group. This is my preferred platform for live Webinars.
I usually build all my Websites on WordPress, but occasionally I get a client that sells a lot of physical products and needs a great shopping cart that tracks inventory. The best in the industry, in my opinion, is Shopify. Shopify hosts your Website for you and provides an SSL certificate. They also offer the ability to choose free or paid themes. You can check out a Website I built using the Shopify platform at CutHub.com.
I love running giveaway contests to build social proof. When you’re first starting out, you need to build your numbers for your email list and social platforms. Gleam is great at doing this. The first contest entry is adding them to your email list. They can then get additional entries by following your social channels and watching videos. They can also get additional entries by referring friends. I ran a day trading laptop giveaway and got 1,541 leads in 30 days. Note: I used the Pro account so I could integrate with Ontraport.
Cameras, Lights, and Audio Equipment:
One of the most common questions I get asked is “What type of camera, lighting, and audio equipment do you use to film testimonials and videos for your Website?
In order to answer this question, I’ve created a comprehensive list below of the equipment that I use. There are so many choices in the market, but this is what has worked for me.
Example Video: I’ve filmed multiple testimonial videos for TryDayTrading.com using the equipment below. This video is just an example to show you what is possible with this equipment.
I love the Lumix GH4 because it was built for video first and pictures second. This camera is great, but costs a fraction of what you would pay for other high-end brands. Shooting in 4K allows me to record a wide angle and then punch in and out in the edit without losing quality. This makes it look like you had two cameras shooting.
When it comes to recording videos, you’ll need a good tripod. This Tripod is awesome. It is sturdy and adjusts up to 59 inches. It also has a level built in so you can make sure your shot looks just right.
This DC Coupler battery adapter fits into where your battery would go in your camera. This will allow you to plug in to record without worrying about your battery level draining down. I love this adapter for filming indoor videos.
Your DC Coupler battery adapter won’t work without the power cord. This power cord will plugin to your battery adapter so you can film as long as you want without worrying about your battery life.
Shooting video in 4K is amazing, but it also uses a lot of memory. I use this 128 GB memory card because it allows me to record over an hour in 4K without having to change out the card.
When you spend a lot on gear, you want a place to store and protect your gear. This ikan backpack is perfect for storing your camera, lenses, memory cards, and audio equipment. It also has a rain cover for when you’re outdoors.
Lighting is so important for a great video. This is the kit that I use for all of my video testimonials and Website videos. These lights are LED so they don’t overheat or put off a lot of heat. The overhead light is awesome to light your whole set. This set is a must for video interviews.
You will want to protect your lights when you’re not using them or if your transporting them. This is the bag that I use for my lights. It’s great for transporting my lights.
Audio for your videos is really important. You finally have a great picture, but if the audio sounds bad you’ll lose potential customers. The Zoom H5 allows me to record the audio directly and then I sink it up with the video footage in the edit.
I have two of the Sony Lavalier mics that plugin directly to the Zoom H5. These lavalier mics have really long cords and allow you to set the Zoom H5 out of the video screen while recording great audio.
